What we are, and what we aren't

PenaltyLetter is a document-preparation and mailing service. We help you prepare a request that you review, sign, and send in your own name.

We are not a law firm, CPA firm, or enrolled agent. We do not provide tax, legal, or financial advice, and we do not represent you before the IRS. You make your own decisions and sign your own documents. No outcome is guaranteed.

The free path is real. If you qualify for First-Time Abate or the IRS's new automatic penalty relief, you can request it yourself by phone at no cost, and it often works the same day. We'll tell you when that applies.

Your information

The screener runs without an account and doesn't ask for your Social Security number or any account numbers. If you give us your email, we use it only to send what you asked for and to tell you when the guided builder is ready.

When the paid document service launches, we will delete your documents, any signature image, and your interview content 30 days after your case is complete. We keep only anonymized case metadata (penalty type, amounts, dates) to understand outcomes over time.
